A cookie typically contains information about the service itself, a unique identifier that allows the service to recognise your web browser, additional data that serves the purpose of the cookie, and the lifespan of the cookie.

Cookies are used to enable certain features (e.g. keeping a session or conversation going), to track usage (e.g. analytics), to store your settings, and to improve content and functionality.

Session cookies vs. persistent cookies

Session cookies only last as long as your online session. They are deleted from your device when you close your browser.

Persistent cookies stay on your device after you close your browser and expire according to the time specified in the cookie, or when you delete them.

You can see the specific duration of the persistent cookie we use in the table below.

What’s the difference between first and third party cookies?

First party cookies are set by the website you are visiting, and only that website can access and read these cookies.

Third party cookies are set by someone other than the owner of the website you’re visiting. For example, if a site embeds content or scripts from another provider, that provider may set its own cookies.

From the Website Owner’s perspective, NXTL behaves as a third-party service embedded on their site. The cookie used by NXTL will therefore typically appear as a third-party cookie in your browser on that site.

Types of cookies and how we use them

Necessary cookies

Necessary cookies are required for the basic functionality of a website or service to work.

NXTL itself does not set its own “necessary” cookie in the browser when embedded on third-party websites. Any necessary cookies on the Website Owner’s site (for example login, payment or consent-management cookies) are set and controlled by the Website Owner or their other suppliers.

These cookies are normally described in the Website Owner’s own cookie or privacy policy and cannot usually be rejected without affecting the core functionality of the site.

Functionality cookies

Functionality cookies are used to provide improved or customised features and to help us understand how services are used so we can improve them.

NXTL normally uses one functionality/analytics cookie when embedded on third-party websites:

Cookie overview

Provider

Purpose

Cookies

Duration

The Next Level AS

NXTL assistant – conversation context, usage analysis and diagnostics

nxtl_signal

Persistent cookie, 12 months from last interaction

NXTL_signal

What we use it for

nxtl_signal stores a compact “signal stack” related to your interactions with NXTL on a given browser, for example:

Events linked to the assistant (e.g. opening the widget, sending a message)

Messages you send to the assistant (user messages)

Messages returned by the assistant (assistant messages)

Certain technical telemetry (for stability and diagnostics)

Each interaction may also send a signal event to our backend with information such as:

Signal type and content (including the text you type or see)

Page URL/path and referrer host

UTM parameters (campaign information) if present

Browser user agent, language and screen resolution

We use this information to:

Keep your conversation coherent over multiple steps

Understand how NXTL is used and improve performance and quality

Troubleshoot issues and protect the service

Personal data

nxtl_signal may contain the text you enter in the assistant. These providers may set their own cookies.

We do not control what these other providers do with their cookies. For information about other third-party cookies used on the site, please see the Website Owner’s own cookie or privacy policy.

How you can change your cookie settings, incl. opting out

On many websites, a cookie banner or settings panel allows you to:

Say no to non-necessary cookies (such as analytics cookies)

Change your mind later and update your choices

Withdraw or change consent you previously gave

Whether nxtl_signal is used, and for which purposes, may depend on the choices you make in that banner or settings panel. The Website Owner is responsible for collecting any consent required under local law (for example, for non-essential analytics cookies in the EEA/UK).

It is also possible to instruct your browser to refuse cookies from specific sites or to delete cookies:

Most browsers are configured to accept cookies by default, but you can change these settings to refuse cookies altogether or to notify you when a website is trying to set a cookie.

If you browse from multiple devices or browsers, you need to update your settings on each device and in each browser.

Although some cookies can be blocked with little impact on your experience, blocking all cookies or blocking the nxtl_signal cookie may mean that certain assistant features do not work or that conversations cannot be kept coherent.

Who are we and how can you contact us?

The NXTL service is provided by:

The Next Level AS
Hetlandsgata 9
4344 Bryne, Norway
Organisation / company number: 933 671 48

If you have questions about this cookie policy or how NXTL uses cookies on third-party websites, you can contact us at:

Email: contact@nxtl.ai

Subject: NXTL cookies

You can also contact the Website Owner directly with questions about how they use NXTL and other cookies on their site, and about the legal bases they rely on.

Related privacy information

Privacy Summary

Privacy Policy

Cookie Policy

Effective date: 15 January 2026.
